BRHS skiff up for auction

If you’d like to see an example of the incredible learning opportunities at Boothbay Region High School, stop by the lobby of the YMCA to inspect the 12-foot Echo Bay skiff built by the students of Chip Schwehm’s Marine Technology class. The design is by Chase Small Craft in Saco and incorporates marine grade Okoume plywood with cherry, Douglas fir, and white pine supports and bronze hardware. The skiff comes with Shaw & Tenney 7½’-foot spruce oars.

The skiff is being auctioned online with the proceeds going to benefit Education Boothbay and to the Marine Technology class to purchase materials for the next boat project.

Education Boothbay is a 501(c)(3) that helps teachers teach and students learn by supporting innovative tools and resources outside of what may be available through school budgets. Go to EducationBoothbay.org to learn about Education Boothbay and how to place a bid or donate.
